Little B :: One Year Old! :: Wisconsin Portrait Photographer

Here in the Madison area, we’ve had some pretty yucky weather lately.  Wisconsin in the fall can never seem to make up its mind.  It’s cold, it’s warm, it’s rainy, it’s dry, it’s cloudy, it’s sunny.  The only thing that’s consistent is the inconsistency!  This being said, you can imagine how thrilled I was when we had an absolutely gorgeous fall day for little boy B’s one-year portrait shoot.  :)

I met little B and his family at a park down the street from my own house.  It’s a great little spot with a wide expanse of green grass and all kinds of trees and plants around.  Immediately, B found great interest in the last of the season’s dandelions…

jones_3

Several dandelions fell victim to B’s curious little fingers…

B can’t quite walk unassisted yet, but he did a great job of wobbling along with mom and dad at his side.

jones_2

It was difficult to pry his attention away from all of the interesting things in the grass.

jones_5

But we were successful in getting a few big smiles from him throughout the session!

jones_4

Speaking of big smiles, check out those adorable baby teeth!!  We found a trick to making him laugh.  These three make such a gorgeous family!

B Sandwich!

I was very impressed that we could capture this fantastic little family shot, and with such a wonderful little smile on little B’s face!

jones_8

Little boys will be boys, and that means lots of curiosity and exploring.

jones_9

He’ll cherish these shots when he gets older…  :)

This is one of my favorites.  So sweet!

To Little B’s family:  Thanks so much for allowing me to capture this sweet moment in his life!  I can’t wait for more opportunities to capture his adorable little personality as he gets bigger and bigger.  Enjoy!

A Morning in the Park :: The D. Family!

Boys will be boys.  :)  And when you’ve got two of them in the family, those boy things are pretty darn cute!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful family in the park down the road from my house for an early morning portrait shoot.  I love shooting early in the morning, and light like we had is worth giving up those extra weekend hours of sleep.  Beautiful sunlight still lingering low in the sky is fantastic for portraits!  Enjoy your preview, guys!

We started off slow, just exploring the cool prairie plants growing alongside the park.

Peek - A - Boo!  Someone was a teensy bit shy.  Look at those GORGEOUS blue eyes!

You can always talk boys into a jumping contest.  :)

One day they’ll have a hard time remembering these days when they were so little!

It was wonderful to meet you guys!

The K Family!

Ever since I met this beautiful mommy at her maternity session, I’ve loved every chance to photograph her little cuties!  Baby T is an expressive little girl, and little E is a hilarious little boy who loves Punk Farm.  When the idea of a family portrait came up, I knew it would be fun!

We returned to the scene of the maternity shoot to document some great images of this fun fam all together with their new addition.  Enjoy!

Little T can’t quite stand on her own yet, but we faked it:

Two aunties joined us on the shoot to help with the kids and have a sisters portrait created.  Check out the three beauties:

Thanks for creating this opportunity, guys!  I really enjoyed spending a morning with the whole family!

Baby Alex :: Welcome!

Last year, I had the pleasure and honor of shooting a wedding for a dear, dear friend of the family.  In fact, their images were the first posted to this blog!  Jake and my little brother have been best friends since kindergarten, and now that they are all grown up I still consider Jake to be practically like my other little brother.  My “brother from another mother,” as they would say (love ya, Karin!).  I am so happy that both my brothers have turned out to be such amazing men.

Jake and his beautiful wife have had to endure what must be one of the hardest things for newlyweds and new parents to face: Deployment.  Jake is currently stationed in Iraq, far from his new bride and his brand new son, Alex.  My heart goes out to these two.  All that I can offer to help them through this time is photographs of their precious little one for Jake to view from across the ocean- and I am so happy to do that!

To the new parents: your little boy is beautiful.  :)  I look forward to someday soon, when we can all four get together to capture images of your happy family, together at last.  Enjoy your preview.

Let’s start with some baby fingers and toes:

A Lovely Summer Family Portrait Session

When my friend Stacy contacted me to let me know that her family was interested in a family portrait, I was very happy to be able to return a service to her!  Stacy and her sister were the talented florists who put together all of the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnaires for our wedding last August.  They were beautiful!  So of course, I was excited to drive out to the family home in Verona for this session.

The H Family was so great to work with, and they even rescheduled when I found out I had over-booked on the day of a family reunion- thanks again for that, guys!  We had a beautiful, but sticky summer evening with gorgeous end of day light to work with.  The yard around the home provided a gorgeous backdrop full of flowers and thoughtful landscaping- and my favorite part was the incredible prarie right in the front yard.  Stunning!

Thanks for allowing me to capture images of your beautiful family, guys!  Enjoy your preview!  :)

I had a tough time deciding to design my main website around my wedding photography because portraits have always been a part of what I do.  Babies, families, seniors, professionals- I love to dabble in it all.  Dedicating part of my business to portraits is important to me.

Visit often to see the new portraits I’ve created and get the low-down on the next promotions.  I’m always coming up with new ideas!
